Praise for Kaneworks
"Thanks to your help we reached another goal and are ready to move to the next level. We have now surpassed over our expectation and have donated almost $600,000 to research while giving an additional $75,000 to families fighting this deadly disease. Again, we were recognized by the Jimmy Fund as one of their "Top Ten Golf Tournaments". The Contractors against Cancer page is up and running and the contractors are now preparing to join us and we are ready for their donations. They love the idea of a direct LINK to their websites."

In the Beginning

When Yahoo was still only heard at rodeos and before Google was a verb, Marvin Kane, Founder and Principal of Kaneworks Solutions, was building websites. In 1994, as a member of the technology group at National Cable Communications, a cable television advertising firm then located on Newbury Street in Boston with offices in the top ten media markets in the country, Mr. Kane was tasked with investigating "this internet thing". The result was the company's first website and Mr. Kane's promotion to Webmaster. NCC's new website achieved results. The site experienced over ten thousand "hits" in its first month. And by migrating the complicated process of cable ad buys to a web-based platform, the company's operating expenses were reduced dramatically. Mr. Kane revolutionized the way cable ad firms did business by creating a template for an electronic media kit. This allowed cable companies such as Time Warner and Comcast to post media kits for their prime time offerings directly to the internet, thus saving paper, time and money.

In 1998, Mr. Kane joined Cyrk, Inc., a promotional services and marketing firm headquartered in Seattle, as its Web Production Manager. Mr. Kane quickly became an indispensable member of the team that designed, developed and deployed enterprise level e-commerce sites for some of America's best known companies. A partial client list includes:

  • Charles Schwab
  • Peterbilt Motors
  • Hyster Machinery
  • Caterpillar Retail
  • Caterpillar Dealer
  • Accenture
  • Fidelity
  • Masterfoods
  • During his tenure with Cyrk, he learned the importance of brand equity and how a well designed website can extend and enhance a company's identity resulting in increased revenue. He learned something else too. Only the big companies with huge marketing budgets were getting the attention. What about the smaller companies — the companies that once comprised 90% of the American business landscape? This gaping hole, together with Mr. Kane's entrepreneurial spirit formed the impetus for the formation of Kaneworks Solutions. In 2000, Mr. Kane launched the company with the aim of bringing to small and mid-size companies the same level of service, skill and talent that he brought to Fortune 1000 companies.
